Pets Help People Manage the Pain of Mental Illness

A recently published study in BMC Psychiatry explores the role that regular contact with pets plays in mental health recovery and finds that: “…pets should be considered a main, rather than a marginal source of support, in the management of long-term mental health problems and could be considered as extending more traditional Collaborative Care Models for managing mental health [46].”

A warm thank-you to all our human and non-human volunteers who bring the proven benefits of pet therapy to those in need!
