Pets and Friends 2014 Annual General Meeting

On January 15, 2014 Pets and Friends held its Annual General Meeting in North Vancouver.  Pets and Friends volunteer Jonathan Young, who visits with his dog Barclay, came to learn more about the organization and participate in the AGM.  We were so grateful to have him in attendance!

Message from the President – Judi Brown

I look forward to the coming year and am excited at the prospects of working with a larger board, getting a new website up and running, and increasing our volunteer base.

Community Support

This past year we gratefully received donations from the District of North Vancouver, the City of North Vancouver, and the District of West Vancouver.  These generous donations will enable us to put more volunteers in care facilities on the North Shore.

We also received a generous donation from the Highbury Foundation, which will certainly help with the running expenses of Pets and Friends.  Additionally, the Hamber Foundation kindly donated this new website.

I would like to personally thank all of these fantastic organizations for their generous and kind donations.  Without your support, Pets and Friends could not provide its necessary and meaningful services to the Greater Vancouver community.  Thank you all!

New Board Members

In August 2013, we welcomed another new Board Member – Rojin Nazari, who is an engineering student at UBC.  In September, Debra Tivy, an employee of Intact Insurance, joined the Board. Debra  has a background in event planning, so we look forward to gaining some insight from her.  In October, Irina Molohovsky, who works in wholesale and specialty retail for Relaxus Products Ltd, joined the Pets and Friends Board of Directors. It will be wonderful to get some advice on marketing from her.  Zetta Han joined the Board of Directors in November, making it a board of eight members. She is a student attending college and she works part time in a veterinarian clinic.

Pets and Friends 2014

With the new Pets and Friends website now online, we are able to communicate and reach out to the Greater Vancouver community like never before.  Our new website is just the beginning of the many new and exciting endeavors developing in the next year.  With your continuing support, I look forward to improving our impact and reach.

If you would like to build your leadership skills and volunteer your time to help Pets and Friends grow its community, contact info@petsandfriends.org for more information.

Sincerely,
Judi Brown
