Vancouver Curling Club Generously Raised $5,000 for Pets and Friends
Pets and Friends wants to send out a HUGE thank you to the Vancouver Curling Club and all the participants of their 17th Annual Barry Naimark Charity Skins Bonspiel! Pets and Friends was the very fortunate and grateful recipient of $5000.00 raised at this event through a silent auctions and 50/50 draw.
Vancouver Curling Club event chairperson Kathy Mcinnes did an amazing job organizing the event, right down to dog bone shaped signs to tie in with Pets and Friends! One participant from a different club said “it’s one of the best organized bonspiel I’ve attended.”
Thank you so much to Vancouver Curling Club Executive Director Willa Thorpe, Event Chairperson Kathy Mcinnes and all the participants and volunteers who made this charity event such a great success. We’re extremely grateful for this generous financial support to help us bring on board even more volunteers and their pets to brighten the days of those in care facilities, hospices, hospitals, and group homes .
A special thanks to Pat Boomhower, past Pets and Friends Board Member and current curler at the Vancouver Curling Club, for submitting Pets and Friends for consideration by the club to be the recipient of this charity event. Thanks Pat!
Congratulations to the winning teams!
This critical donation allows Pets and Friends to continue to support its volunteers and its mission to provide pet companionship to those in need across the Greater Vancouver area. Without this support, Pets and Friends would be unable to service its community.
